Story 1
Poor farmers in India are unable to spend on old cows (food as well as medical treatment) who can neither conceive nor lactate and are compelled to sell them for a small amount of money. Since inception i.e. 2009, Shree Govardhan has saved nearly a 100 helpless cows by purchasing them and looking after their well being. They are given proper feed from time to time and appropriate treatment besides love and care. Many of the cows are lame or suffer from skin disease and our experienced vetinary doctor attends to them regularly.

On 13th Jan 2012, an unusual incident happened with two of the resident cows. With proper feed, love and care given to these aged animals, two beautiful calves were born to two of these cows within a time gap of just 1 hour. This was in stark contrast to what the doctors had earlier predicted and had declared these two cows completely sterile and incapable of conceiving. The birth of these two beautiful calves was a result of love, care and compassion shown by the doctors and staff of Shree Govardhan and is considered nothing short of a miracle. The Hon Executive Director, Maroti Kanthewad felt that this was a token of their hard work and passion.

Story 2
In a similar incident, 3 of the non-lactating cows started giving milk which was considered impossible by doctors. This may have been a direct impact due to the quality of feed which is grown in-house. These crops are grown in organic conditions without the use of chemicals and these cows are fed with a variety of grass, mainly Jayant & Yashvant. Proper feeding schedules and continuous monitoring by staff has ensured that cows remain healthy and add value to the environment.
